I want to thank all of you for making this Blog a useful site for all of the Devon Crest parents and swimmers.  I especially would like to thank the contributors to this site including Jann McNamara (most general information), Jodi Phy (concession information), Bruce Six (league information), Mike Matson (amazing photography) and Joe Pickell (parent duties).  This site has had over 7000 hits in two months.  I also want to thank you for the kind words and encouragement regarding the content of the Devon Crest Blog.  I will probably bring the web site back next year, so stay tuned for updates during the summer of 2010.

Devon Crest Swim Team Summer Activities (updated)

July 8- Devon Crest Novice Meet Invitational. Come cheer your teammates on, and see your coach’s swim in the Coach’s Relay. Good Luck to all swimmers participating.

July 15- Swim-A-Thon. Swimmers will commit to swimming as many laps as they think they could do during their practice and then attempt to raise money for their hard work in order to help a worthy cause. We will be raising money for the same orphanage in Argentina as last summer, where Coach Meg had worked to help feed and cloth these less then fortunate children. Any money that can be raised will go a long to helping these kids and their orphanage. Donations being paid by check can be made out to Orphanetwork.  You have until Friday to turn in donations.

July 15- Movie with the Coach’s. In order to thank the younger guys for their hard wor] raising money for the orphanage as well as all season long, the coach’s will be going to the movies to see Ice Age 3, Dawn of the Dinosaurs after the swim-a-thon. Any and all swimmers are welcome to come join them. We’d love for some of you older swimmers to come with, if you can, to spend some tune with the younger swimmers. It is recommended that swimmers bring a change of clothes and a lunch to eat under the pavilion after practice. For those attending the movie, Ice Age 3 is showing at 1:45 at the AMC Colonial Commons.

July 17- Drag Day. All swimmers are encouraged to bring old clothes to practice to swim in. T-Shirts, shorts, socks, etc. be creative.

July 22- Swim Team Banquet. Come swim, eat and reflect on what has been an amazing season. Congratulations Devon Crest Gators 2009 Division Champs!

The Coaches would like to thank all swimmers and parents who help make Devon Crest Swim Team such a great experience every summer.

Family Awards Night

With the season coming to a close it is once again time for our annual Family Awards Night. Last year the event was fun for the kids (even though we were inside) and we expect this year will be even better.

Please review the information below, mark your calendars, and plan to attend.

Location: Devon Manor Pool

Events:

1      Swimmer recognition.

2      Distribution of team gifts.

3      Special assistance recognition.

4      Family games.

5      Swimmer of the Year Award presentation.

What to bring:

Food:

1     Families with last names starting A-M please bring a salad or side dish.

2     Families with last names starting N-Z please bring a dessert item.

3     The team will provide the main course for the meal and beverages.

Other:

1   All family members should bring their swim suits and towels.

Registration:

2   Each family complete one copy of the form below and return to the Rittle
folder at the pool or with all the information below in an email to clrittle@aol.com by
